El Campo High School is a public four-year secondary school with an enrollment of approximately 1,011 students in grades nine through twelve. The senior class includes approximately 229 students. El Campo High School has 79 members on the teaching faculty and is accredited by the Texas Education Agency. The school day consists of 8 class periods that meet 5 days a week for 47 minutes. The Community
El Campo is located in Wharton County at the crossroads of State Highway 71 and U.S. Hwy 59. It is approximately 70 miles southwest of Houston and 50 miles northeast of Victoria via U.S. 59. Matagorda Bay and the Gulf of Mexico are about 45 miles south on Highway 71. El Campo is the largest city in the county with agri-business, oil and gas providing the primary economic means.
